We are a CHRISTIAN People
We are united with all believers in proclaiming the Lordship of Jesus Christ.  We believe that in divine love God offers to all people forgiveness of sins and restored relationship.  In being reconciled to God, we believe that we are also to be reconciled to one another, loving each other as we have been loved by God and forgiving each other as we have been forgiven by God.
We are a HOLINESS People
God, who is Holy, calls us to a life of Holiness.  We believe that the Holy Spirit seeks to do in us a second work of grace, called entire sanctification, cleansing us from all sin, renewing us in the image of God, empowering us to love God with our whole heart, soul, mind and strength, and our neighbors as ourselves, and producing in us the character of Christ.  Holiness in the life of believers is most clearly understood as Christlikeness.
   We are a MISSIONAL People
Since its earliest days, Oregon City Church of the Nazarene has put the Great Commission, Matthew 28:19. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit …” as one of its main goals.  Our mission begins in worship, encourages believers toward Christian maturity through discipleship, and ministers to our world through compassion and evangelism.
We are People Committed to PRAYER
We are a church which is committed to prayer, understanding that it is through prayerful communion that we grow in Christ and that it is through intercession that lives are changed.
We are People Committed to FAMILY and COMMUNITY
We are a church which works hard to support, strengthen and encourage the families of our Church and our community.  We understand that healthy and strong families are God’s design for the future of His Kingdom and our world.
We are People Committed to DISCIPLESHIP
We are a church in which people purposefully pursue Christlikeness together as group and in our individual daily living.
                                 What do Nazarenes believe?
We Believe:
  • In God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We especially emphasize the deity of Jesus Christ and the personality of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
  • That the Old and New Testament scriptures, given by plenary inspiration, contain all the truth necessary to faith and Christian living. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119.105; Proverbs 30:5)
  • That man is born in sin. (Romans 5:12)
  • That man needs the work of forgiveness through Christ and new birth by the Holy Spirit.
  • That subsequent to this there is deeper work of heart cleansing or entire sanctification through the infilling of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 5:3; Acts 2:38; 1 Corinthians 6:19).
  • That to each of these works of grace the Holy Spirit gives witness. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:9-10; Romans 6:3-4)
  • In the Bible doctrine of divine healing and urge our people to seek to offer the prayer of faith for the healing of the sick. Providential means and agencies when deemed necessary should not be refused.
  • That our Lord will return, the dead shall be raised, and that all shall come to final judgment with its rewards and punishments. (Matthew 24:36; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-5:2; John 14:3)
  • In communion as an opportunity to remember the death, burial, resurrection and return of our Lord.
  • This opportunity, which is a culmination of our celebration and worship, is provided for all believers and guests. (Acts 2:42; 20:7, 1 Corinthians 11:23-29).
  • That we are to be good stewards as the Bible teaches us that all we have comes from God and belongs to God. A part of being a good steward is giving back to God the first part of our income (10%) for the work of the local church. (1 Chronicles 29:16; Psalm 24:1; 1 Corinthians 10:6; 1 Corinthians 16:2).

12What We Believe About Worship:
  • Worship of God should be SPIRITUAL. Therefore, we remain flexible and yielded to the leading of the Holy Spirit to direct our worship.
  • Worship of God should be INSPIRATIONAL. Therefore, we give a great place to music in our worship.
  • Worship of God should be INTELLIGENT. Therefore, our services are designed with great emphasis on teaching the Word of God that He might instruct us how He would be worshiped.
  • Worship of God is FRUITFUL. Therefore, we look for His love in our lives as the supreme manifestations that we have truly been worshiping Him.
