Celebrating our 90th Anniversary All Year Long!  Since the COVID-19 pandemic is restricting us to hold an actual celebration day, we will be featuring monthly tidbits of our history on the website.

Rev. and Mrs. R.T. Holmes (10/1/1935 – 4/30/1944)                   First Church on Pierce Street
The 1st church was located on Pierce Street.  It was a small building constructed on unpainted lumber with no basement.  The basement was dug in 1935 with Ira Smith’s team of horses equipped with steel scoops.  Pastor R.T. Holmes believed in prayer so strongly that the church added a prayer tower in 1938.

       Under Rev.
