What to Expect

Welcome:
We welcome you to visit without fear. At Oregon City Church of the Nazarene, we want you to feel at home. We want you to experience the great music, encouraging messages, friendly people and enjoyable atmosphere that are part of OC Naz. At OC Naz we are more concerned with you personally and your needs than with what you wear. Dress up or dress comfortably, and either way, you will fit in.

Children/Teen Activities:
Your children from birth through sixth grade will enjoy small groups just for them during Sunday worship and during Sunday School. They have fun with other children their age, Bible stories and participate in age-appropriate music and games led by committed, loving church volunteers who teach our kids about Jesus. Child care is available at all regularly scheduled Wednesday and Sunday services. Children’s church is held during the morning worship hour. Teenagers meet in the Teen Center during Sunday School and join the adults during the morning worship service.

Worship Service:
During church worships you’ll enjoy worshipful and contemporary music with a mixture of music styles. Sermons are Bible based, holiness centered with humor and application to every day life. You’ll receive our worship bulletin which includes a helpful outline of the pastor’s message, complete with Bible passages and announcements about what’s going on at OC Naz. You will also receive our visitors’ handbook that outlines ministries, our core values and beliefs and various other information to get help you get connected.

Feel at Home:
Don’t worry … we will NOT make you stand up and introduce yourself. We will, however, make a general comment during the church announcements asking any visitors to fill out a Communication card if you would like to be contacted. Communication cards are located in the pew in front of you and are a great way to request more information, ask for prayer, or any other general questions. Feel free to fill one out and place it in the offering plate when that is passed around or hand it to an usher.

Before Worship Service:
Before service, an usher in the lobby area is available to help you get acquainted with the church’s layout, where the restrooms are located, how the nursery works, etc. You will find that people who attend OC Naz are very friendly and welcoming.
